We are excited to announce the arrival of a great friend and superb chef to our ranks, namely Andy Evans.
Andy for the last 20 years and has worked alongside some of the greatest names in the industry: Mark Hix and Des Macdonald (The Ivy), Tim Hughes (J Sheekey’s), Gordon Ramsay & Mark Seargant (Gordon Ramsay) Marcus Wareing (Petrus) and Fergus Henderson (St John).
Most recently Andy worked at The Colonel Fawcett in Camden, during his tenure winning the “Observer food monthly Best Sunday Roast in Britain 2014” to add to his already burgeoning plaudits-
Time Out’s Sunday roast of the year (the Highgate Brasserie 2010)
Trip Advisor’s certificate of excellence 2014 (The Colonel Fawcett 2014)
2 AA Rosettes, Michelin recommended (The Only Running Footman, Mayfair 2014)
In Andy’s words he plans to bring, ‘Quality British ingredients, cooked with French techniques and a lot of love and care’ to the table at Pub on the Park. Provenance and sustainability are key, and this is shown in the suppliers that he uses. All of the vegetables that we buy are from farms that have won the, ‘Red tractor award’ which means they operate at the highest of standards.
Fish will come in from day boats from all around the British Isles, Pork and Venison from Tudges farm in Ludlow, Chicken from an organic farm in Sussex, Beef from Yorkshire and Lamb from Scotland & Essex depending on breed.
Seasonality is extremely important. With Andy and his brigade and over the next month you will see the freshest morels, wild garlic, nettles, rhubarb & razor clams on the menu.
On Monday – Fridays we have our, ‘Famous Five’, lunch specials served between 12-2
Saturdays we will be running Brunch 12 -5 followed by our regular menu in the evening
Sundays will be all about THE ROAST.

The iconic pub on the park has been given a new breath of life from July 2010, with a fresh and improved selection of beers, wines and spirits, a revolving food menu using only fresh ingredients, and a loving way with what must be the one of the biggest beer gardens this side of London Town.
We aim to restore the former Queen Eleanor to its undisputed position as the place to drink, eat and be serene this side of London Fields. With a friendly and no-messing approach to serving, a constantly updated music playlist, outside barbeques in the summer months, and £11 roasts on chilly winter Sundays, cosy couches, free wi-fi, good coffee, and mags galore to read, we’re sure you’ll agree that Pub on the Park will be your home from home once you cross her welcoming threshold.
We have all the major sporting events covered too, with three screens – one playing to the crowds in the garden. Being just three minutes walk from the Hackney Empire or Ocean makes us the ideal meeting place before a concert, gig or other event. And Columbia Road and Brick Lane markets are located nearby, should the desire to imbibe in a flea market purchase take your fancy.
We have resident DJs at the weekends shuffling through their determinedly hefty collections of sounds and, as we’re child and pet-friendly, we know you’re thinking “surely, the only thing that could top that lot would be a floodlit boules court next to the boozer”? Well, we got that too!
For bookings large or small, call 020 7923 3398 and ask for Kenny. To get advance notification of our shows, special prices and dinner deals, follow us on Facebook or join our mailing list.
We now have televisions available for our outside areas meaning you can take in the football at Pub on the Park in a covered heated space (we also have TVs inside for those days when the weather does what you would expect at this time of year).
Our Bears Den Lounge is available for hire, it’s perfect for all of your party needs whatever the occasion.
